According to Webster's New World College Dictionary (2010), an allegory is the
expression. And according to The American Heritage Dictionary of the English
Language (2013) also writes that figurative language is an expression using
non-literal manner.
As
for the difference between metaphor and simile, metaphor is a word or phrase
that is to do a comparison, while the simile is an allegory or parable, but
both have the same functionality as the words that connect words, for example:
Metaphor : 1. Time is money,
2. Their home was a prison.
Simile : 1. As brave as a lion
2. As Blind as a bat
